Drip cap is an external “windowsill”, which is installed in
the outside part of the window. Water is the worst enemy of the window and it must not accumulate on the external perimeter.
An extra drip cap is installed into “D.O.M.” wooden windows, it is fixed into the casement from outside. The water streams
down it to the big lower drip cap and does not stagnate elsewhere. The construction of “big” drip caps is quite simple: the
cheapest are made of zink plated iron and the most expensive – of painted plastisol. They differ only in noise, produced by
rain: the latter makes the sound of the rain quieter.
Slope from zinc-plated steel.
Slope from alluminium.
Slope from plastisol (steel with polymeric coating). Colour: brown, white.
End caps for slopes (fit all sorts of slopes).
Example of engineering process of slope manufacturing:
Installation of the slope:
1. In the presence of place for slope in the wall the slope is adjusted to it. Angle joint of the slope, the wall and the window aperture is worked up with silicone.
2. If there is no place for the slope in the sidewall, the slope is neatly bent (size of shelf is 15-30mm). The joint of side shelf of the slope and the side wall is worked up with silicone. Angle joint of the slope, the wall and the window aperture is worked up with silicone as well.
3. In case end caps are used, the joint between end caps and the sidewall is worked up with silicone.
4. Interval between fixing points is 50-70mm.
5. See to it, that all openings, drilled in the window casing must be worked up with silicone hermetic.
